China has pledged military assistance worth Rs 2.4 billion to the Nepal Army for humanitarian and disaster relief purposes.
Defense Minister Ishwar Pokharel left for China Thursday to sign the agreement on the assistance, which is worth 150 million RMB or Rs 2.4 billion.
“The cabinet meeting has entrusted the defense minister to sign the agreement on China’s Provision of Military Assistance Gratis to Nepal. The issue was also discussed and agreed during the state visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping,” said government spokesperson and information minister Gokul Baskota on Thursday.
China had provided an assistance worth the same amount to the Nepal Army last year as well.
