The Primo GeoVishap is considered one of the most annoying and difficult bosses in Genshin Impact, so it is a big deal to kill him. The Boss Primo Geovishap was released in version 1.4 when the Hutao and Xiao banners were available.
As hoyoverse releases new bosses for every new 5-star character, the primo geovishap dropped ascension materials for both-Hutao and Xiao. So players had to struggle quite a bit to get their characters Hutao and Xiao leveled up.
Primo Geovishap: Things to know you go against him
The Genshin Primo Geovishap stays in an idle state before a player gets close to it. It can be in one of four states pyro, hydro, cryo, or electro. When in a specific elemental state, it has a 30% Elemental resistance to that Typical Elemental attack and 10% elemental resistance to the other remaining, Elemental attacks.
For example, if the primo geovishap is in a pyro-state, it has 30% pyro resistance and 10% other elemental resistance. Along with the Elemental resistance, it also has additional 30% physical and 50% geo resistance throughout its fight.
The Geovishap takes a few seconds to be active before attacking, and during that time, the vishap has 200% resistance. So any attacks on vishap boss in that duration are futile. After it fully awakens, it starts a series of attacks.
Firstly, the Geovishap punches with its claw and then, after a few seconds, look back and performs a spinning attack. It also attacks forward twice ending, with a slam with a small AoE.
If the player is outside the melee range, the vishap fires Elemental missiles from its tails, leaving Elemental stones that can deal with continuous explosions of that Specific Element. It also bores underground and travels along the player dealing damage if it comes into contact.
Last but not least, Genshin Vishap fires a breath of elemental Power, turning in an arc path called Primordial shower. You can counter this attack of Geovishap if you have a shield equipped. The attack can be hurled towards the vishap, taking a decent chunk of its health.
After The Vishap’s health drops below 10%, it simply fires stone missiles from its tails. But you can dodge easily since it has a small AoE.
Best Way to Kill The Primo Geovishap in Genshin Impact
Considering all the points above, the best way to counter the primo Geovishap in Genshin Impact is by using a non-physical DPS and a shield character. It is a challenge for players in the early and mid stages of the game. But having a reliable DPS and a shield or even a healer makes a huge difference against Geovishap. Dodging is also an important aspect if you are not relying on your shield much.
In Genshin Impact, if you do not have a dedicated shield character, you can depend on a geo character and use crystalline reactions to produce armor to kill the Primo Geovishap. A shield is crucial because it helps to counter the Primordial Shower.
So build your main DPS to their highest level and level up their artifacts and talents. The primo geovishap has over 1 million HP at level 90, and it is going to take a while to finish it off if your DPS cannot deal out enough damage.
Since your team comp revolves around an essential shield and the main DPS, you can allocate the other 2 slots to support and a healer or supports.
Furthermore, to beat Primo Geovishap, Supports like Bennett and Sara can be a great help in boosting your overall DPS. Since Bennett can also heal well, it is like a 2 in 1 combo with Bennett on your team. Other Genshin support characters against Geovishap include Fischl, Xiangling, and Xingqiu (if your main DPS is pyro).
In the case of physical damage dealers, these characters are not good at dealing with vishap is because of the inability to cause reactions unless you have Eula and can deal a massive chunk of damage with her ult.
It might take some retries and use of food constantly, but following the tips above and experimenting with your available team comps will help defeat the Giant Toad, Primo Geovishap in Genshin Impact.
